Together, we can create a sustainable world that benefits all.

Our Promise

We aim to drive positive change, contribute to a sustainable world, and champion social inclusivity. We are committed to upholding the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in everything we do.

What does this mean?

We understand how our actions affect society, the environment, and our communities. This awareness influences our ESG commitments and guides our decision-making process to ensure that we operate inclusively, responsibly, ethically, and sustainably.

We appreciate that integrating ESG considerations into our business practices is crucial for reducing risks, achieving long-term financial performance, and creating positive social and environmental impacts that benefit current and future generations.

Environmental Initiatives

We recognise the need to tackle environmental challenges and minimise our impact on the environment wherever possible.

So we pledge to:

  • Minimise waste generation, energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Support initiatives that mitigate climate change and promote renewable energy sources, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.

  • Prioritise resource conservation, seeking opportunities to reduce water usage, minimise paper consumption, and adopt eco-friendly practices wherever possible.
  • Adhere to all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and standards while continuously monitoring our practices to ensure compliance.

Tree planting

We partnered with MORE:TREES in July 2021. Since beginning this initiative, we’ve planted more than 200 trees across sites in Madagascar, that is 84 tonnes of future CO2 reduction.

One tree is planted for every new employee, their work anniversaries, birthdays, special occasions, and every new customer who partners with us.

We are carbon neutral

We are proud to announce that we have been certified carbon neutral for the second year in a row, validating our commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability practices.

Social Responsibility

We understand that we are responsible for promoting social equity, diversity, and inclusivity. We aim to create an inclusive workplace culture that supports and empowers our employees while positively impacting the communities we serve.

So we pledge to:

  • Embrace diversity in all forms and foster an inclusive workplace culture where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.
  • Prioritise our employees' health, safety, and mental well-being, providing a supportive work environment and opportunities for professional development.

  • Actively engage with our communities, supporting local initiatives and charitable organisations to address social challenges.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with our stakeholders, including employees, clients, and partners, to foster trust, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Charity begins at work

We firmly believe in giving back to the communities that support us. As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, we actively engage with local initiatives and charitable organisations to address pressing social challenges.

Whether we support local food banks, sponsor educational programs, or participate in environmental conservation efforts, we strive to be a positive force for change.

In Spotlight

Newbury Soup Kitchen is just one of the many charities we support but also one that is very dear to everyone at EV. They do amazing work helping those who are less fortunate and facing poverty in Newbury and the surrounding West Berkshire area. The charity provides a comprehensive hot meal service, warm clothing provisions, a friendly face, and a safe place to sit, chat, and feel safe.

In October 2023, EV launched an initiative asking employees to donate pot noodles, a favourite food item that can be kept in the cupboard for a quick meal. More recently, a team of EV running enthusiasts donned their trainers and hit the tarmac to complete the Newbury 10k, raising vital funds for this great cause.

Governance Practices

We prioritise maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance, integrity, and ethics. We aim to ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible decision-making in all our business interactions.

So we pledge to:

  • Conduct business with integrity, honesty, and fairness by upholding ethical principles when interacting with all stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards by implementing robust compliance and risk management frameworks, which helps us mitigate risks and safeguard against misconduct.

  • Maintain a diverse and independent board of directors comprising individuals with varied backgrounds, expertise, and perspectives. This allows us to provide effective oversight and strategic guidance.
  • Actively engage with our shareholders to seek their input, feedback, and alignment on key strategic decisions and initiatives. This helps us ensure long-term value creation and sustainable growth.
